In this episode of Speaking About Speaking, I spoke with Master Practitioner in Mindful Eating, author of Boosting Breakfasts, podcaster, online course creator and speaker, Lori Weber.

As well as running the Mindful Eating Clinic, Lori, founded Perfect Pitch in October 2003 and works with leading associate companies in the training and development arenas.

Her dual background in performing arts & a number of business roles has equipped her with the skills and creativity to get the best out of people.

This was an interesting conversation! 

We discussed how a good speaker knows how to use pitch, pace and pause and how beneficial it is to anyone who needs to speak for their work to bite the bullet and attend a drama class. As I always say, actors' training is fundamental to confident communication, self-awareness and life in general!

Ep. 60. Create a successful online course and make money while you sleep with guest, Lucy Griffiths

I have followed Lucy since I was recommended and bought her Confidence on Camera digital course back at the beginning of the lockdown (as did thousands of others).

Except for this previously LIVE episode, it was just ME, Jackie Goddard.

I decided that at the end of every 6-week block of LIVES, I would take over the 30-minute slot to answer questions from anyone out there that would like like to know my take on speakers, speaking, how to prep and how to perform.

This was my first solo performance. 😱  It was totally interactive and so there were questions like: How do you cope with nerves when talking to strangers at networking or in a social situation, and how do you deal with interruptions during a presentation?

All fabulous questions but in true Blue Peter style I had a list of my top 10 tips on how to build your public speaking confidence that I'd prepared earlier!
